The Great Sheepdog Showdown

The excitement is building for the Great Sheepdog Showdown! A fierce leaderboard challenge that showcases local Canberra identities attempting to perfect the art of sheepdog trialling, in a race against the clock, a dog and one’s own quick thinking. Who will be crowned the top dog?

2023  Hit 104.7’s Ned + Josh visit Manuka Oval

In 2023 we celebrated 80 years of the Nationals in Canberra with a visit to Manuka Oval, the original home grounds of the trials, where Ned and Josh from Hit 104.7 joined the team to battle it out against Charlie in a time trial. The day was a huge success and enjoyed by all with Ned and Josh astonishingly penning their sheep in under 1.5 minutes, though they were no match for the Champion, Charlie Cover who shut the gate in 17 seconds. We had a giant ’80’ shaped presentation of scones with jam and cream to mark the occasion afterwards!

2023  UC Capitals

Our President, Sarah, and her dogs paid a visit to the UC Caps ahead of their final home game of 2023. We loved supporting the UC Capitals – the energy is electric, the crowd is amazing and it’s a wonderful entertaining sport – fun for the whole family (much like sheepdog trialing)! In a nod to our favourite club, we’ve named the newest member of our team, ‘Swish’.

2022  Brumbies Rugby

Brumbies Rugby tried their hand at Sheepdog Trialing for the first time in the lead up the to the 79th National Sheepdog Trial Championship. Two teams from the Brumbies took on Sugar and her owner Lauren for the quickest time to pen the sheep. The team we least expected may have pulled the wool over our eyes and secured the win!
