NSDTA Scholarship Program

Supporting the next generation of sheepdog handlers.

The National Sheepdog Trial Association (NSDTA) is proud to announce our new Scholarship Program, designed to support and encourage young enthusiasts in the sport of Sheepdog Trialing across Australia.

About the Program

Our scholarship program aims to lower the barriers of entry for young people interested in Sheepdog Trialing. We believe in fostering the next generation of handlers and trainers, ensuring the continued relevance and excellence of working dogs in modern agriculture and society.

What We Offer

Successful applicants may receive support in various forms, including and not limited to:

  • Cash assistance
  • Dog food supplies
  • Expert coaching and/or mentoring
  • Transport assistance to trials

While we have some flexibility, cash assistance will usually be limited to $1,000 per applicant per year.

Eligibility

  • Open to individuals under 30 years of age
  • Passionate about Sheepdog Trialing
  • Must respect the rules and guidelines of the National Sheepdog Trial Association and the Australian Sheepdog Workers Association.
  • Committed to learning and improving in the sport
